Learning to Drive with Roadies
What You Need to Get Started
Before your first lesson, make sure you have:
-
A valid UK provisional driving licence
-
Glasses or contact lenses (if you need them to meet the eyesight requirement)
We’ll check both before getting started, just to make sure everything’s in place.
Booking a Lesson & Where We Drive

Booking a lesson is simple—just call, text, or message us and we’ll get a time sorted. Lessons usually start from your home, school, college, or workplace—whatever works best for you. If you're outside a regular pickup area, we’ll agree on a convenient meeting point.
Your First Lesson (New Learners)

Don’t worry—we start slow. Your first lesson usually covers:
-
Getting comfortable in the driver’s seat
-
Adjusting mirrors and seating position
-
Understanding the basic controls
-
Practising moving off and stopping
The goal is to help you feel relaxed and in control before moving on to junctions, steering, and gear changes.
Experienced Drivers: Picking Up Where You Left Off

If you’ve driven before, we’ll begin with an assessment of your current ability. From there, we’ll agree on a lesson plan that builds on your experience and focuses on any areas where you'd like to feel more confident.
What’s Included in a Lesson?

Every driving lesson includes:
-
Hands-on driving from start to finish
-
Ongoing feedback to help you improve
-
Progress tracking so you always know where you're at and what’s next
-
We’ll move through skills at your pace—from the basics to more advanced techniques like parallel parking, roundabouts, and dual carriageways.
Booking Your Theory & Driving Tests

When you're ready, we’ll support you in booking both your theory test and practical driving test. We’ll make sure you’re fully prepared for each step, with mock tests and structured guidance along the way
Motorway Lessons

Motorway lessons are a great way to gain confidence on faster, busier roads. These sessions focus on lane discipline, overtaking, and understanding motorway signs and flow
